YouTube and StyleHaul Year-End (Thanksgiving) Dinner

One of the perks of working at home is getting to do what I want when I want it. One of the downsides, however, is not having any company Christmas parties to attend! This is my second Christmas as a full-time blogger, also my second Christmas without Kris Kringle, Php 300 Exchange gift and Company Christmas party! How sad, right?!

Good thing Youtube and Stylehaul invited me to their year-end thanksgiving dinner for all their artists. The 2 dinners were separate, though. I just decided to put them in 1 blog post. :)

First, let's talk about what happened at the YouTube dinner

I was most excited about this dinner because I consider YouTube as my boss. I consider it my main branch if I were a mall or food chain. (Hehe)

The Youtube dinner was held at Your Local restaurant in Makati last December 11, 2014.

Still fresh from the bus robbery I experienced last December 8, I was scared to go to Makati again. I did not want to be alone so I was glad Andy from Shimmerjjang.com went with me to the dinner.

The food at Your Local was... okay. But it was not great. Some guests liked the food, but I did not. I guess my taste on food is pretty basic because I like conventional tastes. I am not really a fan of fusion food and tastes I haven't had before. I hope you get what I mean.

Anyway, there weren't many guests at the dinner. Famous ones like Alodia Gosiengfiao, Erwan Heussaff, Chicser and the others were supposed to be there but couldn't because they had other appointments.

But it was fun to meet some people I haven't met before. To be honest, I am not the type of person to brag about my YouTube channel or achievements. If you have met me before, you know that I am quiet when at events and don't talk often. I'm not snob but I guess I like listening and observing more than being the noisy one. Hehe I am okay even when some people don't know me or don't recognize who I am. But I always like it when I give people my YouTube channel and they later find out about it and get pretty impressed. It's like they didn't expect a petite girl like me to be someone like that on YouTube. And I like it! Hehe Big things come from small boxes.

Cheers for everything that happened on YouTube this 2015! And cheers for another YouTube Fanfest in 2016!! (Ryan Higa, please!!!!!)

One of my favorite parts of eating out is the dessert! What you gonna do with that dessert?! Hehe Vanilla Ice Cream with Green Tea Powder and some nuts!

Here's everyone present at the event! We got another YouTube T-shirt! Another addition to my YouTube collection!

Here's what I wore that night. I haven't done any OOTD posts for a long time and I really, really miss it! Sigh, I wish there was someone to take my photos. It's so hard to do it by myself using just a tripod and remote. :(

Going home was so difficult, though. Ordinary cabs choose passengers so if you live far, they are probably going to decline and leave you in the middle of the street. Uber and Grab cars are safe and would take you anywhere, but I can't get over how expensive they are! 3x more than regular taxi fare! I am not the type of person to spend my money on that when I can get 1/3 the price on regular taxi. Not all taxis are dangerous. I always look at the taxi driver's face and the plate number and text it to a friend. I am also always cautious and never sleep in the taxi and always let the driver know that I know my way so he can't fool me. Hehe Like I said in the Duterte video, it's okay to be paranoid especially if you are in the Philippines!

Next, the Stylehaul dinner!

Stylehaul is a fashion network on YouTube. It is a community for YouTube creators and other beauty bloggers. It hasn't been long since I joined Stylehaul. In fact, they have been trying to get me on board since 2013 but I only decided to join after the YouTube Fanfest here in Manila! hehe

Anyway, the dinner was held at Todd English Food Hall in SM Aura last December 14, 2015.

I was so excited for this dinner when I saw my e-mail confirmation and it had the names of Camille Co, Laureen Uy and other famous fashion bloggers. I have met Camille before at the YouTube Fanfest rehearsals and she was so nice! She IS nice in person!
A photo posted by Kristine Roces (@realasianbeauty) on

The food at Tood English was so good! This is the kind of food that I like! I ate a lot! I think I went back to the buffet table 3 times and I'm not even ashamed! hehe

The highlight, of course, would be the dessert! I tried their The Bomb dessert and it was the bomb! I'm guessing it would be expensive but at least try it when you get the chance! It's like those videos you see where the food moves or changes it's form when poured with hot chocolate! It was so good! (I'll edit this post soon with a video of the dessert.)

My table mates that night were Genzel, Daisy, Angel and Kris. Genzel and Kris are fellow YouTubers while Daisy and Angel are some of the winners for the meet-and-greet.

Oh, guys! Please meet my new blogger besties : Lissa, Camille and Nicole. Too bad Laureen didn't make it that night. (Hehe) Just kidding! Camille was nice, as always. I asked them if I could take a photo with them 3 just so I could pretend I am part of their "blogger besties" barkada. hehe

Here are some of the beautiful YouTubers that are with Stylehaul that were present that night. Spot any familiar faces or ones that you are subscribed to?

My date that night was Angel! She joined the Instagram contest so I picked her to join me that night. Thanks for being there, Angel, and for the necklace gift! :) Oh, can you guys guess how old she is? I couldn't believe when she told me her age!

My "feeling teen" barkada! Hehe Some of them were girls I met at the YouTube Fanfest last June. And OMG, they are so young and fresh! Girls, please enjoy your life as it is now! Please don't hurry to get older. I envy you for being so young. You could still achieve and go places at that age! Take your time in life! <3 comment-3--="" nbsp="">

Our extreme high-angle shot! Hehehe

My tablemates with Yan, Regional Manager from Stylehaul.

And the whole gang! Everyone that's present at the StyleHaul dinner! Can you make a head count and let me know how many of us (or them, if you don't know me. But wait, you are on my blog...) do you actually watch on YouTube or know? I'm curious!

To end this blog post, let me show you my simple Outfit Of The Day. Anyone willing to be my photographer? I miss doing OOTD posts, really! Oh, willing photographer must be good at taking low angle shots! Hehe

Fun nights! Thanks to YouTube and to StyleHaul for setting up a dinner for us! Now, I won't feel left out even if I see my friends upload photos of their company's Christmas party on Facebook! Going to these dinners made me feel as if I already attended a Christmas Party! Yay!

Advance Merry Christmas, everyone! I promise to update this blog often so please check back every other day. Mwah!

Food Vlog : Trying Filipino Snacks (Pinoy Chichirya)

A lot of you guys tell me that you enjoy the food vlogs that I do. It may not show in my petite body frame, but I do like eating! hehe My sister, Karen, came here to the Philippines for vacation. Since she also does YouTube videos, I decided to do a food vlog with her.

Our food vlog is different from the usual food vlogs I do where I eat at restaurants with a friend. This time, I decided to feature some famous snacks here in the Philippines. Some of them are so famous that I have been eating them since I was young!

These are the Filipino snacks that we ate in the video!

If you are Filipino, which among the 10 snacks is your favorite or did you eat when you were younger?

I really enjoyed doing this video with Karen! I was impressed that she did not complain eating any of the snacks. Though, I admit she does look awkward in the video. Hehe But, don't judge! She's also like that in person. Hehe She is soft-spoken, shy and reserved. But she's a really sweet sister! Here are some of the still shots I took from the video.

Please watch us by clicking that triangle thing in the middle!

If you noticed in the video, there were some voices behind the camera. Those were our "cameramen" and "assistant"! Hehe our cute nephews in Tarlac!

Can you imagine cute little boys doing YouTue videos?? Hehe They are my favorite nephews, David, Gabriel and Charlie! (I miss them now that I am back in Manila!)

After opening each packet of snack and after I finally shouted "CUT", they immediately grabbed the snack the munched on it! How cute? I thought we could still eat all the snacks after filming the whole video, but they also finished everything as soon as we were done filming. Hehe

One of the things that we did in Tarlac when my sister and I went there was to EAT. Eat, eat and eat!

I hope you enjoyed our "Filipino Snacks" video.

I want to know what your faorite snack is so be sure to leave a comment below.

I am also on Instagram, show your love by following @RealAsianBeauty!

Food Vlog : How to Enjoy Maginahawa Street with only P500 Budget

Maginhawa Street is famous for all the artsy restaurants and of course, the delicious yet affordable food that the artsy restaurants serve. I've been to Maginhawa Street a couple of times but I still get overwhelmed each time I go! One will never get tired of it as there will always be a new place or new food to try!

My friend and fellow blogger, Andy from Shimmerjjang.com, and I decided to go one time to have a food challenge. Actually, we both just like eating! hehe At first, we were just going to film another "Eating video" but I figured it would be more fun if there would be some sort of challenge.

So, challenge it is! I came up with the Php500 Peso Maginhawa Street Challenge! We wanted to see how much food we can eat and how many restaurants we can visit with only Php500 budget.

Reading is nice but watching us eat would be more fun! hehe
Please watch the FOOD VLOG below.

I have been wanting to try at Iscreamist for the longest time. Friuli has always been one of the top recommendations so I made sure to put the two restaurants on the list. Andy wanted to go to The Nook Cafe so I also included that on our list.

We had no idea where to start so we just looked for the nearest one from where the taxi driver dropped us off. After minutes of trying to figure out the map, we decided to go to Iscreamist first. Yes, ice cream dessert first before anything else! hehe

We got there at around 3 PM but as expected, there was already a long line of people waiting to get in.

Iscreamist moved to a new location, but fret not as it is just right across the street from their previous location. It is now in the same area as Stuff Over Burger. It could be a little tricky to find as they are inside the building and there isn't any signage outside.

Iscreamist doesn't have a lot on their menu, though. It was sad, too, because after about 30 minutes in line, we finally got in but when we tried to order, the lady said they were out of the Smores (Dragon's Breathe) so we couldn't get it. We didn't want to get the other Ice Cream as it is more expensive and one wouldn't really be able to enjoy the Liquid Nitrogen.

We were sad so we just sat there for 15 minutes. Good thing, the delivery guy came so we were finally able to order!

Iscreamist Ice Cream is special because you get to dip the Smores in a glass of extremely cold Liquid Nitrogen. 7 seconds in it is enough to freeze it as cold as Elsa's snow! hehe

WHAT WE ATE : Iscreamist Dragon's Breathe Smores
PRICE : Php 75 per 4 pieces and 1 glass of Liquid Nitrogen

It is so fun to dip the cookie in the Liquid Nitrogen as you will really witness how it freezes! Yes, the cold *smores* never bothered me, anyway!

After that, we did a bit of walking and explored some artsy shops around the area. Our next stop was Friuli! From the outside, it may not look interesting as the cafe looks plain and boring.

As usual, we had to wait in line again! Good thing we only waited for 10 minutes.

So, I was saying that the restaurant looks plain outside but once you get in, the smell of cheese, toasted crust and a lot of other ingredients being cooked will welcome you! The aroma smells so good, you could even eat it and go! In Tagalog, amoy pa lang ulam na! hehe

It was our first time, as well, so we didn't know which ones to get. Of course, we had to get Pizza and Pasta!

WHAT WE ATE : Friuli Margherita and Marinara (half-half) Pizza
PRICE : Php 205

WHAT WE ATE : Spaghetti with Tuna and Mushroom
PRICE : Php 120

What we did, Andy and I added the total of the bill then split it in two! Can't believe we only paid Php 162.50 per person because we were really full and the food was really so satisfying! It's really a must-try, guys!

Another thing I liked is that the staff at Friuli are all nice, friendly and warm! I love going to restaurants with nice and friendly staff! It always makes me want to go back!

It was a bit dark when we got out of Friuli. We didn't know where The Nook Cafe is located to we kept walking. When we were a few blocks away, we got to the Artsy Cafe. I always see that cafe from the outside so I told Andy we should check it out. When I last saw it, it looked really artsy from the outside. But when we went it, there was a crazy amount of people and the place wasn't really artsy, at least in my opinion. So we just went out and tried to look for The Nook Cafe. When we finally found it, the attendant said we were going to be 14 on the list and it would take about an hour before we could go in and have coffee. What?! Ridiculous. So we just looked for another cafe where we could chill. Wait, this paragraph is too long!

Earlier, we saw an artsy looking place called Magpie Cafe. We know it's a Korean Inspired cafe so Andy and I decided to just go there.

This may be our biggest splurge and biggest mistake that night. Find out why!

WHAT WE ATE : Frappuccino (times 2)
PRICE : Php 140 (times 2)

WHAT WE ATE : Chocolate Bingsu
PRICE : Php 150

The place is really artsy, as you can see in the photo! We are surrounded by cute writings on their glass wall. They also play Korean songs so that's a plus point!

The thing that we didn't like was the food! The Frappuccino that they serve, in my opinion, is too plain and normal to be selling the same price as a cup of Starbucks. It tastes like a regular coffee shake you would get from some random shake stall. And the bingsu, OMG! How do I even begin to explain how it didn't taste like a Korean Bingsu at all. There wasn't any "phat"/sticky rice balls to begin with! The whipped cream was tasteless, too. The only thing I liked were the 2 cherries! So, I'd say that's too expensive for just Php150 whipped cream in a styro bowl!

What Andy and I did, again, was to add the total of the bill and split it in half. So we each paid for Php 215. We couldn't even fathom how we spent more money on drinks and dessert than the actual food! (Pizza and Pasta) It was fine to spend Php 215 but the thing is we didn't enjoy what we ordered for Php215. We could've just gone for kwek-kwek and dirty ice cream somewhere. hehe

Anyway, I still loved their artsy wall so I had to take a photo!

Overall, we spent Php452.50 per person! We were really full and satisfied! If we had eaten at some fancy resturant at the mall, our Php500 would have only gotten us a platter of something. Maginhawa Street is really a nice food-trip place! I really recommend going there with your family and friends! I am actually craving for the Margherita Pizza and the Tuna Spaghetti as I'm writing this blog post. And it's 12:30 AM so I won't be able to do anything about this craving!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and the eating video! I also dare YOU to take the Php500 Maginhawa Street Food Challenge. If you ever eat at Maginhawa Street, tag me on Instagram @RealAsianBeauty! I want to see what food you had so I could try it next time!

Thank you for reading today!

Yummydiet 5-Day Food Delivery Program (Weight Loss or Weight Gain)

Ever since I started working as a full-tine blogger at home, I'm on the computer almost the entire day. By that, I mean just sitting on the bed with the computer on my lap. When I was still working in the office, I'd meet with friends during break time so we'd go down to buy food or share our lunch boxes with each other. At that time, the things that I did at the office were to work and to eat. Bu now that I'm just at home, my friends would often tell me how thin I got each time they'd see me.

This is how my body looks now.

I see nothing wrong with my body. Especially since I am also preparing my *abs* for the summer. But the thing is, each time someone I know from my old office would see me, they'd be really surprised how thin I got. There was even this girl at my old office that recently saw me and screamed in the middle of the office "Tine, ikaw ba yan?? Ang payat mo!! Anung nangyare sayo?!" (Tine, is that you? You got so thin! What happened to you?) Okay, first, why do some people think it's okay to thin-shame some people that got thin but get really offended when you tell them they got fatter? Talk about double standards. :( Second, instead of saying "Hi, how have you been?", why do some people mention weight/figure first??

I got frustrated so I decided I'd eat a lot to gain some weight. As for my *abs*, I decided to just double my effort and the current number of sit-ups and leg raises that I do to make up for all the food I intake.

I discovered YUMMYDIET and thought this would be the perfect time to gain back some weight!

Yummydiet is a Food Diet Delivery that is convenient and affordable. For only Php 1,800 per week, you'd get 5 days worth of meals with free delivery at your home or office daily. Each delivery is composed of Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, 1-2 snacks, coffee and tea!

To achieve the body that you want, here are some tips from Yummydiet:

How to have an awesome Yummydiet experience :

Don't wait, refrigerate
Place the food inside the fridge within an hour after delivery to prevent spoilage and ensure proper food handling,

Heat when you're about to eat
Food tastes best after heating. Follow the little note on the food cover on how to handle the specific meal or snack. Sprinkle a little water on your rice before heating to make it moist and soft again.

Water is forever
Drink no less that 8 glasses of water a day. Drink 2 glasses of water before going to bed.

Juiceko!
Refrain from drinking fruit drinks and sodas. They contain more caories than your food and more sugar than your donut!

Timing is everything
Don't eat your meals in one sitting. Try to eat every 2-3 hours to keep yourself energized, satisfied and that way, your metabolism is maximized.

Here are the food sets that they delivered to me for 5-day program:
(Sine I want to gain weight, they sent me food sets that come down to 1,800 calories)

Day 1 meal :
Tomato, Basil &Parmesan Scramble

Day 5 meal :

I really like it is so convenient! One of the reasons why some people get wain or lose weight is because they never get to watch what they eat. We just eat what we want and whats available, without thinking of the cholesterol, fats and calories that we are having along with it. The 5-day program of Yummydiet will take care of your food and will make sure that you eat only the best food! High calorie when you  want to gain weight. Sumptuous Lunch at DOLCELATTE! (plus Giveaway!)

I really love food, it doesn't show because my body is petite but I really like eating! Yesterday, I had lunch at Dolcelatte so I thought of sharing to you guys the food that we had.

Dolcelatte is located on the 5th level of SM Megamall, Fashion Hall. Their original branch is in Quezon Avenue and this branch in Megamll just opened last November 2014.

What I like about Dolcelatte is that their restaurant's ambiance is bright, simple yet cozy. The simplicity of the place will let you focus more on the taste and quality of the food rather than the place. They also do not play loud and distracting music, also a plus point!

Are you guys ready to drool over the food I'm gonna show you? Yes? Let's begin, then! You may feel hungry at the end of this blog post, though. Don't say I didn't warn you.

We were able to sit right away when we got to the restaurant. Because don't you just hate having to wait in line just to eat? Our mothers don't make us wait when we eat so why must we let restaurants do that to us? (hehe #hugot)

We also didn't wait too long for the food. Look at this stolen photo of me being totally giddy upon the arrival of our food!

Dolcelatte serves Italian-American food but is 100% Filipino owned restaurant. When you hear their name, you may think of just coffee, bread and pastries. But they actually serve full meals like pasta, pizza and steak!

Here's our table!

FOIE GRAS WITH APPLE CHUTNEY | Php 375
Pan-seared Foie Gras , Apple Cranberry Chutney, Arugala, Salad-Balsamic Reduction
At first, I had no idea what this was. I see a small piece of meat and that was it. I wasn't really excited about this plate. But when I tried it, OMG!!! This is a piece of heaven served on a plate! The meat just melts in your mouth like marshmallow! This is so delicious and I really recommend trying this dish at Dolcelatte!

COBB SALAD | Php 450
Chicken Strips, Bacon Bits, Grilled Corn, Avocado, Hard Boiled Egg, Parmesan Cheese, Tortilla Chips, Iceberg Lettuce, Apple Cider or Honey Mustard Dressing
We had Cobb Salad, too. The taste was interesting and the tortilla chips made it even more delicious.

BAKED TRUFFLE PASTA | Php 470
Grilled Cheese, Shitake Mushrooms, Bacon and a hint of Truffle
This pasta is also very delicious! The creamy sauce and loads of cheese are just heaven in the mouth, The crispy bacon bits on top also make the taste perfect.

It's so cute how they used bow-shaped pasta for this. However, I noticed that the pasta could still use some more cooking as it was a bit undone for my liking. But other than that, the taste of the pasta is really flavorful.

GRILLED SALMON IN LEMON CAPER SAUCE | Php 585
Norwegian Salmon Fillet, Lemon Butter Caper Sauce, Mashed Potatoes, House Salad
The taste of the salmon is delicious but what stood out the most to me were the mashed potato and the caper sauce! The mashed potato isn't the typical, almost bland, mashed potato. The taste was really mouthwatering! The sauce was sour, but in a good and appetizing way. It matches well with the taste of the mashed potatoes and the grilled salmon!

Now you have seen the first set of food we had. I didn't eat breakfast before going to Dolcelatte so I wasn't smiling in the picture because I was excited to taste all the mouthwatering food on the table!

I came with my Mommy and my Step-dad. The day we went to Dolcelatte was also their 6th Anniversary. Hehe!

I had big appetite that day so I ordered for some more additional food! hehe

DOLCELATTE SUPREME PIZZA | Php 595
Parma Ham, Honey Cured Bacon, Italian Sausage, Ground Beef, Olives, Pineapple, Bell Pepper, Button Mushrooms
Thin crust pizza with meat, mushrooms, olives, bell peppers, onions plus lost and lost of cheese! This is also very tasty!

STEAK AND FOIE GRAS | Php 975
Tenderloin Beef Medallion, Pan Seared Foie Gras, Sauteed Spinach, Mushrooms, Truffle Fries
This steak has just the perfect combination! I love how they did the meat, not rare and not overly done. Just the right meat for the appetite! The sauce, the mushrooms and the foie gras were happy ending, or the good beginning, to this heavenly piece of meat!

I wasn't able to finish this at the restaurant so I had it wrapped to take home. I ate it while writing this blog post and almost cried. (hehe) It's just so delicious that I wished I had a big cut instead of just a small portion! So yummy!

BREAKFAST SHAKE | Php 125 - BERRY SMOOTHIE | Php 125
The Berry Smoothie was a bit sour for my liking, I didn't like it much. But, O. M. G! The Breakfast Smoothie was so delicious! I really recommend trying it at Dolcelatte.

They blended yogurt, banana, peanut butter, fruits and nuts and some granola bar bits! It's really so delicious, I tell you. The sweetness is perfect, I think I can finish 2 glasses of this in just 1 sitting! I will surely go back to Dolcelatte soon to have this again!

With Ms. Clare Lorenzo, Marketing Manager of Dolcelatte Gourmet Selections. :)

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you want to just grab one and shove it in your mouth? They look so delicious and sweet and inviting, don't they?!

I was so full that I didn't order any of the Croughnuts! But I will definitely go back to have a piece or two. Plus, a glass or two of the delicious Breakfast shake! hehe

DARK VALRHONA CRUNCH | Php 225 per slice
For dessert, we had this ultra-creamy slice of chocolate cake that tastes like Nutella and Ferrero Rocher fell in love with each other and had a child! hehe So soft, moist, creamy and delicious. It wasn't too sweet and the nuts is a perfect addition to it!

GREEN TEA | Php 120

All my effort to keep my tummy fit and flat for summer went down the drain in one sitting. hehe. I was so full that I was full even when I got home 5 hours after. But if you ask me, it was all worth it because the food that we had were all so good and awesomely delicious. To help our stomach digest all the food we had, we drank green tea, which was also delicious.

I think Dolcelatte doesn't serve anything not delicious. Delicious, mouthwatering, tasty and appetizing must be the only words in their vocabulary! ^^

If you happen to be at SM Megamall, I really suggest trying Dolcelatte. Everything we tried we're all delicious but if you only had to pick a few, I suggest having their Foie Gras with Apple Chutner, Baked Truffle Pasta, Breakfast Shake and the Dark Valrhona.
