DIY Ombre Hair Color Using Crepe Paper!

In case you haven't heard yet, coloring your hair using Crepe Paper is the newest fad! Ombre Blue and Puple or Green-tipped hair, anyone? This inexpensive school supply has got us covered! For only Php 10 each, you can now say hello to in-trend, ombre hair!

I just love inexpensive, D.I.Y. hacks like this! And the best thing about this is that it is not permanent. I mean, I wouldn't want purple tips for 6 months or a year! As a blogger, I have to consider that my purple hair won't go well with a red polka dot print dress. Hehe

Using Crepe Paper to dye your hair would give you vibrant hair color for 2 weeks maximum! I say, that is just perfect if you want to try something new for a short period of time or want to look extra-special for an occasion. And the best part? You won't have to spend too much! Php 20 is all you need!

Please watch the video for the full CREPE PAPER Hair Color Tutorial!

Frequently Asked Questions :

1.) Where can I buy crepe paper?
- I got mine from National Bookstore. If you are not from the Philippines, check your local bookstore, art supply store or stationery store.

2.) Is Crepe Paper same as party streamers?
- If you are pertaining to THIS, then my answer is YES.

3.) What is the salt for?
- The salt helps the dyeing process to make the color bond more to your hair. If you are afraid this would damage your hair, feel free to skip this step.

4.) Is it permanent?
- Using Crepe Paper to color your hair is NOT permanent and will eventually wash off.

5.) How long will it last?
- For people that have normal hair, the color lasts up to 5 days. Since my hair is coarse and chemically-treated, the green color lasted 2 weeks.

6.) I have black hair, will this work?
- I am afraid it won't work, especially if you have "virgin" hair that has never been dyed nor treated before.

7.) How do I get rid of the color?
- The color will fade overtime. But if you want to get rid of it before waiting for it to naturally fade, then you can go ahead and color the tips of your hair the same color as the roots.

8.) I'm 10, can I color my hair with this? |  Will it damage my hair?
- Yes, baby girl! This WILL damage your hair! Since they use chemicals to dye the crepe paper, you are also basically using toxic to dye your hair. 10 is too young to try anything harsh. Please go ahead and appreciate the natural color and smoothness of your hair. :)

9.) Should I shampoo my hair after?
-After soaking the hair for 15-30 minutes, rinse your hair and use your favorite conditioner to tame the dryness and prevent damage. Skip shampoo so the color sets and does not fade.

10.) Will it stain my clothes/pillows?
- After the first wash, dry your hair completely before using any white or light fabric. After drying, it won't stain fabrics anymore. But just to be sure, use dark or black fabrics until the next day.

In case you were wondering what conditioner I used, I used my new favorite Palmolive Naturals Cream Conditioner! Yay! Have you watched the video I made regarding this product? If you haven't yet, please watch it HERE.

Here's how my hair looks in PURPLE!

Since my roots are in BROWN, Purple tips look a bit awkward. I also wondered why the ends became black instead of the vibrant purple that I wanted. Because I was so frustrated, I decided to dye the tips in Green the next day! I know, I know, that's torture to my hair.... But Brown>Purple>Black is just unflattering!

Then, I dyed my hair in GREEN! And the result was satisfying! No wonder, most people that dye their hair using crepe paper use green as well. Aside from the fact that it transfers the color to the hair easily, it is also the color that compliments brown the most!

I love this D.I.Y. ombre hair color hack! I recommend this to people that want to try something new but don't have the courage to stick with it for months and months. It is also a great way for people to touch-up their ombre purple, green or blue hair without having to spend thousands at a salon again!

Thank you so much for reading our blog today!
Let me know if you have tried this or if you would be willing to dye your hair using a school material.
If so, which color would you pick?

DIY Ideas Using WASHI TAPES

Washi tape is probably one of the greatest inventions in the history of arts and crafts, at least in my opinion. A tiny paper that comes in colorful designs that you can use anywhere! On top of that, it is adhesive so you can stick it anywhere and everywhere and always end up with something cute, unique and creative!

Since it's still school season, I decided to make a video showing some DIY ideas using washi tapes.

My only concern about washi tapes is that they are so difficult to find. I got mine from different stores. Some of them I got from The Landmark in TriNoma, while some I got from CDR-King and some were from a blog reader. I wish there was a store that sells only washi tapes. In all colors, sizes and designs!

Here is the video showing some Washi Tape DIY ideas.

Washi tapes instantly transform plain and boring stuff to cute and artsy!

My favorite out of all the DIY's is the cord wrapped in washi tape. Since cellphone chargers are used more than once a day, they usually end up getting bent or broken. I like how this will keep my cord dirt-free and protected.

When I met up with the Star City ticket giveaway winners, I asked them what video they would like to see more on our YouTube channel. One of their suggestions was to make more DIY tutorials. Since I take your suggestions seriously, please expect more DIY videos soon!

Thanks for reading today!

Easy and Useful Travel Hacks You Should Know!

As you are reading this blog post, I am probably on the plane going to Singapore! Yay! I'm travelling again! With the recent incident that happened to me when I went to Hong Kong, I thought I won't be travelling anytime soon. But here I am, packed and ready to discover a different world again!

One of the not-so-fun parts of travelling is definitely the "packing"episode. People, especially women, need to bring a lot of stuff with them to survive at least a week or two away from home. So, how do you do that when you only have a small suitcase and limited baggage allowance??

Here are some TRAVEL HACKS you should know to make packing and travelling easier and more convenient!

A smart way to store your earphones and to re-purpose your eyeglasses case is to combine the two! Roll your headphones neatly then store them inside a nice and sturdy eyeglasses case.

Need to hide your emergency money inside a thing that won't easily get stolen? How about getting an old and clean lipstick tube? Roll your bill then put it inside it. Nobody steals lipsticks from travelers, right?

Some people may dislike carrying bags with them aboard. They would probably try to fit eveything in the luggage to keep their hands free throughout the flight. I'd say that isn't a very good idea. I have already experienced luggage mishandling by the airline company I flew with (Cebu Pacific) so I am now a vigilant passenger. You should be, too!

It is best and safer to bring a carry-on bag with you. Keep your valuables in it so that no matter what happens to your luggage, you'd still have the important stuff with you.

I also suggest putting at least an extra pair of clothes in your carry-on bag and some clean undies. I had to suffer because of that! Imagine having nothing to wear for a week in a country that's not your home. Shopping for new stuff also isn't very smart. Because then, you'd be spending money on new stuff rather than on new experiences - which is the reason why you're traveling in the first place.

Yes, it sucks to wear the same clothes over and over for a week. So don't be like me. Always be safe and keep some extra clothes and undies in your carry-on bag!

I also advice travelling with insurance! I have friends that uncheck the insurance box when booking their tickets. For just extra few bucks, it's better to travel feeling safe than to have nothing to get in case something happens.

Now, you are ready to fly and discover the world! I am only just beginning to travel and I am loving all the new feelings, emotions, discoveries and experiences that I am getting!

DIY Phone Case using Washi Tapes, Nail Polish and Color Pens

Having hard time finding cute cases for you phone? Here are some simple DIY phone cases ideas that you'll surely like!

iPhone users always have the advantage when it comes to buying phone cases since manufacturers always make cases for iPhones first. But the situation is different for us Android users. I remember when iPhone 6 came out, the stores I went to were already selling iPhone 6 cases while still didn't have new arrivals for my Samsung S5. I was so frustrated that I just decided to make my own!

The best thing about DIY's is that you always have unique stuff.

Please watch the video below for some quick and easy DIY phone case ideas!

I got the plain phone cases from CD R KING for only Php 20 each! So cheap, right? Some stores sell plain cases for Php 200 so I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that they sell theirs for only Php 20! I have to warn you, though, that their cases aren't as sturdy as the more expensive ones. My second cousin dropped my phone (which I was so sad about because I haven't ever dropped it yet) while inside the pink case from CD R KING. The case went off the phone therefore leaving my innocent S5 with deep and ugly scars. (aka scratches) :( The screen didn't break so I still have something to be thankful about. hehe

Which one is your favorite out of the three? I like them all but my favorite has got to be the simple clear case with washi tapes. :)
