Palmolive Naturals Cream Conditioner Review (Before and After)

The hair is a woman's crowning glory. Soft and silky hair is always an eye-catcher, most especially when it's long and properly groomed. That is why one of the things I can't live without is hair conditioner. I could skip shampoo but never hair conditioner! Why, you ask? It's because I have dry, frizzy and damaged hair!

I used to have really nice, straight and smooth hair, especially when I was younger. But as I was growing, and also due to the hot weather in the Philippines and due to frequent styling and use of heat styling tools, my hair got extremely damaged. I still try to bring my hair back to life by going to the salon and getting hair treatments such as Hair Rebonding and Brazilian Blowout.
But little did I know that those treatments just cause even more damage to my hair!

And, did you notice the subtle green color on the tips of my hair?Yes, I dyed it. And yes, I dye it so often that the ends get frizzy and brittle. OMG, now that I'm writing this, I just realized how bad I've been treating my hair.

I told you that I cannot live without hair conditioner. It's true, my Mom is my witness. Hehe I need it to tame my hair and to make it survive the day without me looking like an angry lion!

I have tried quite a LOT of hair conditioner brands as I am really obsessed with it.  I'm sharing with you a hair conditioner brand I am loving lately.

5 Must-Try Korean Beauty Products

I love Korean beauty products! They not only come in super cute packaging, but most of their products are also good and effective!

You say you have tried almost every Korean product there is, but have you really? Today, I will show you 5 Must-try Korean Beauty Products that I discovered recently.

By the way, the 5 products I will be mentioning in this blogpost were from an online shop called Althea. Althea is an online shop based in Seoul, South Korea that sells authentic Korean beauty products. What I noticed is that they have lower price compared to other online shops and definitely have way cheaper prices compared to Korean store franchises here in the Philippines!

These products are really hot these days! So hot that they are being raved by bloggers and YouTubers! I hope you enjoy my video!

Here are more details regarding the products that I mentioned!

1.) Skin9Dan Black Pack Cleanser - Php560

This is a face pack, pore cleaner and a facial cleanser in one! This removes dirt and sebum on your skin and allows it to breathe. It is perfect for enlarged pores, dry and flaky skin, too much oil and people that wear makeup as it removes makeup residue that sometimes causes acne breakout. What I liked about this product is the packaging, to be honest. The plastic container plus polka-dots print on it make it perfect for Instagram sharing.Hehe Kidding aside, this product is nice, especially for people that have oily skin, like me. After using this product, my skin felt fresh, tight and moisturized but not oily. The black color of the product also helps to eliminate the skin impurities.

2.) W-Lab Black Kill Pore Cleanser - Php720

This is the ultimate pore management product for troubled nose area. It removes excess sebum, gets rid of dead skin cells and also minimizes blackheads and whiteheads! What makes this special is that it comes with a silicone brush tip that eradicates impurities on your nose as you use it. So, no need pricking your nose that only results in making it appear reddish and sometimes, even worsens the skin condition! Although, I have to be honest that I don't have a lot of problem on my nose so I didn't see much difference after I used this. I have only used this once (for the video) and since I think it didn't work on me, I'll just give this away to my friend or cousin. Hehe


3.) Piolang 24K Gold Mask - Php 800

Out of all the 5 must-try products, this gold mask is my favorite! How about trying Cleopatra's beauty secret at the comfort of your own home while living in the modern era??hehe This is a luxurious and pampering treatment that helps improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pores for a youthful looking complexion. It also soothes and calms the skin, locks in hydration and promotes skin renewal and evens out skin tone.
I just love this product! I have tried a lot of masks already but this one is my favorite! It leaves the skin looking glowing right as soon as you peel it off. The smell is also nice and relaxing! What's even good is that it does not break out my skin! That is the number 1 factor for me everytime I try or recommend something. This product is truly a must-try, guys!


4.) Chico-Y-Chica Topping Star Mask - Php 1,000

Bubble mask is really popular these days! For me, I got this because of it's packaging!Hehe The advertising photos on the website of Althea even make this product even more enticing! Anyway, bubble masks are so popular that I even see local facial centers here in the Philippines offer it. This is apparently a deep cleansing mask that promises to clean the pores, remove waste on your skin, tone-up the complexion and control dead skin cells. The ultimate difference of this from other masks is that it turns really foamy while you have it on your face. Thick and foamy, guys! It also has popping sound that is so cool!
But since I always give you honest reviews, I have to tell you that this mask broke me out SO BAD! Like really, really bad! If you watched the video, you definitely noticed my skin was better and glowing. This product was the last product I filmed and used. Right after it, my skin felt itchy. The next day, I woke up to horrible spots. I know that this product was the one that broke me out because I used the other 4 alone and didn't have any breakout. I tried using this again, just to give it the benefit of the doubt, but it just most certainly did break me out! But I had my mom to use this and she said she loved it. She has dry skin, though. I guess people with acne and oily prone skin are not meant for this famous bubble mask.


5.) Blingsome Lip Tattoo - Php390

This is the hottest thing right now in the world of beauty! Everybody is raving about peel-off beauty products! From masks, eyebrows, to lips! I personally love this product because of the color payoff and because it saves me time from retouching my lips every now and then. Since it's also summer, this is the perfect lip product to avoid smearing and melting makeup! I'm also thinking of using this when I go swimming since it is waterproof. So then, I'd have red and kissable lips even under water!Hehe

Face Update : 9th Session of FNT (Fractional Needling Therapy) at Flawless!

A lot of you have been asking me for an Updated Skin Condition post. The last time I posted about FNT was when I had my 4th session. I apologize for making you wait. Anyway, last week I had my 9th session of FNT or Fractional Needling Therapy at Flawless.

WHAT IS F.N.T.?
According to Flawless, Fractional Needling Therapy is a treatment that uses micro needles and it is a cutting-edge and cost-effective skin solution to scars, acne, wrinkles, dark spots, stretch marks, dark spots and hair loss. F.N.T. is one of my favorite treatments to get at Flawless. Because I used to have really, really bad acne, my skin was left with dark spots, acne scars and large pores! F.N.T. helps me to somehow bring back the skin I had before all the bad acne breakout happened. To give you an idea how bad my skin WAS, here is a photo. Again, please do not use this photo to blackmail me if you hate me. hehe

Then, this was how my skin looked before my 1st ever F.N.T. treatment back in February 2015. (Wow, it has been a year, I didn't even notice!)

This is how my skin looked right after my 9th F.N.T. session at Flawless last week, 4th week of January 2016. It was super red, and yes, scary!

(If you hate me, please don't use this photo to blackmail me. hehe I am only posting this photo to let my readers see how the face would look right after an F.N.T. session!) ^^

*I put watermark on my face area to prevent online shops from using my acne and skin photos to promote their products that I never use.


DAY 1 : 

This photo was taken the day after I had the FNT. As you see in the picture, my face was red all over. The areas where the doctor treated well are more red compared to other areas. I have extremely visible pores on my cheeks and on the temple area so I always ask my doctor to treat those areas well. Because it could still be stingy when you wash your face, be sure you only use mild facial cleanser. Avoid using any products that have scrub beads or salicylic acid. The first day is probably the worse stage of the down period so I suggest having your FNT done on a weekend or on your day off work or school.

TIP : I use Cetaphil Cleanser whenever I get F.N.T. treatment because the cleanser is mild and gentle. It only takes away the dirt and impurities without irritating or leaving any harsh chemicals behind.

DAY 2 :

On the second day, peeling will start! This is also the day when the red spots turn dark. The peeling starts on the areas treated well. In my case, the peeling started on the chin and cheek area. I also recommend staying indoor to avoid exposure from the sun. When your skin is peeling, that is the stage where it is most susceptible to sun damage. But if you really must go outside, use sunblock with high SPF. Also, bring an umbrella or use a hat for maximum coverage. I know it is tempting because I am guilty of it! (hehe) But it is not advised to peel off your skin by force. After I took this photo, I peeled my skin by force so it left some red marks the next day. (See photo below)

TIP : Flawless will prescribe you to get the Erythromycin Post Cautery Cream after an F.N.T. treatment. It costs around Php 350 and would last until your 4th session. This cream will help ease the redness, will make it heal faster and it will also prevent irritation.

DAY 3:

On the third day, the peeling would be lesser depending on how much dead skin layer you have to shed off. I have bad skin and I didn't have FNT for few months so the peeling was quite intense. But as I have mentioned above, I peeled my skin by force so it looks better by the third day. However, if you look close enough, you will see that it left some red marks on my face. (3rd right photo, my left cheek) The peeling and dark/red spots were not there anymore but it is still reddish because of force and too much rubbing that I did the previous day. So, please don't do that!


DAY 4 : 

On the 4th day, you will be able to go out of the house without being conscious of your face. Peeling and Dark/Red spots won't be there anymore but the face would still be a bit reddish. It's still still advised to keep away from the sun and only use light makeup. Avoid foundation and powder if possible and just use a tinted moisturizer with SPF.

TIP : I like using tinted base/sunblock like this product. This is a Japanese brand and it also acts as a good makeup base. But on days when you can't wear or too lazy to apply makeup, it's good enough as a product to cover some spots and act as a good sun protection.

DAY 5 :

On the 5th day, you can already see the glow in my skin! My skin also appears tight and refreshed now. I only did my brows, eyes and lips but did not apply anything on my face. (No toner, moisturizer, sunblock, etc.) But my skin looks as if it is tight and the pores became less visible!


DAY 6:

The 6th day (or 7th for some people) is the day when you would feel the most prettiest! It is the day when all of the down time would pay off and you could say hello to a more flawless skin! Like the other photos, I only did my brows, eyes and lips but no product was applied on the skin. But if you look closer, you will see that the pores have become tighter and less visible. The peeling and dark/red spots are no longer there. You can also go back to your regular skin regimen and do your favorite makeup routine. But in my opinion, since you already have good skin this day, I suggest to keep the makeup light. Enjoy your glowing and supple skin and be proud to show it off bare! 


Frequently Asked Questions :

How much does it cost per session?
-It would cost around Php 4,500 for each session of F.N.T. The treatment would be done by one of Flawless' licensed doctors.
Is it painful?
-Yes, it is, especially if you have low pain tolerance. The pain won't be felt while you are having the needle treatment since the doctor would apply anesthesia on your face. The pain comes after the treatment but would only last 10-15 minutes. It is when the anesthesia subsides and you start feeling the sting of the pricking of needles. But you can ask the doctor to turn on the fan so the air could help soothe the stinginess.
Does it work? How many sessions do I need?
-I would suggest having at least 4-6 sessions of F.N.T. to see better results. Once may not be sufficient and the customer may just end up disappointed.
Which Flawless branch do you go to?
-I go to SM North Edsa and Cubao Flawless branches. If you see me, say Hi to me! :)
Is the result permanent? 
-Nothing is permanent just as how there's no forever. The skin does get better through the help of F.N.T., but if you still get acne spots from time to time, like me, then chances are you also get new spots and new open pores. So just to maintain your skin, I would suggest still having F.N.T. sessions at least every 3 months.

For comparison, here's how my skin looked BEFORE and AFTER my 9th F.N.T. session. You can see that the red spots are now gone, no more peeling and my skin is dewy, tight, fresh, appears ligther and the dark spots and some visible spots are less visible!

And here's how my skin looks now after NINE SESSIONS of Flawless' F.N.T.! 
The left photo was my skin before having any F.N.T. treatments. You can see that my skin was darker and I had a lot of active spots and also a lot of dark spots. The area on my forehead also had some wrinkles and the skin looks dry and flaky. 
After 9 sessions of FNT, and no photoshop, edit nor filter, my skin looks pleasantly brighter and the dark spots are lesser now. I also noticed that the birth mark near my left eyebrow has become less deeper! The forehead that used to have wrinkly, dry and flaky skin now looks smoother and tighter! My face also has that noticeably pinkish glow, especially on the cheeks area! Though, some pores on the cheeks are still open and visible, I have to say they are not as big and visible as how they used to be!

I am happy and thankful for my skin now! I know I still need a lot of F.N.T. sessions to achieve that beautiful skin that I am praying for. But the skin condition that I have now is not that bad already if you look back at how it looked in 2012! This treatment is one of the treatments that I love getting at Flawless. Whenever I have special occasions or events to attend, I count at least 8-10 days before the big day and make sure to visit my favorite Flawless clinic to get this treatment. Yes, it is pricey! Considering I already had 9 sessions, the total money I have spent already would come down to Php 40,500!!! But as I have mentioned earlier, you can have at least 4 sessions of this and then say hello to a better skin. However, I do not recommend this to younger people, especially to teenagers as your skin is still young and delicate. This treatment suits best the people that are my age or older and have serious skin condition.

I hope you like this skin update! As always, whatever worked on me may not work on some people. Always consult a doctor or expert (or your parents) first before trying any products or treatments that I review, feature and recommend.

L'oreal Excellence Hair Color Review

I can not remember the last time I had black hair color. Maybe it's because I love my hair with color too much that I haven't decided to go black just yet! Because I color it too often, I have also tried a lot of hair color brands!
Today, I will review L'oreal Excellence Fashion Hair Color.

This is one of the newest hair products of L'oreal. This particular hair coloring brand has variants of color fit for the trendy and edgy people! Why? Because the colors are so rich and vibrant!

The L'oreal Excellence Fashion is a complete set of D.I.Y. hair color. What I like about it is that it comes with a color applicator brush that sticks to the bottle. I always color my hair on my own, without the help of other people. The most difficult part is reaching hard-to-reach areas like the crown of the head and the nape. But with this brush applicator, I am sure that reaching those areas will now be a breeze!

In the box :

• Protective Pre-color Serum
• Protective Creme Colorant
• Creme Developer
• Portective Conditioner
• High-Quality Gloves

SHADE : 6.13 Golden Nude Brown


Step 1 : Squeeze generous dose of the Protective Pre-Serum into the hand.

Apply it to the lengths and ends and then leave it in while you color your hair. This Pre-Serum will protect that hair from getting damaged. The ends and tips of the hair is usually the part that gets damaged when coloring the hair. The Pre-Serum will help minimize damage.

Step 2 : Mix the color. Pour Creme colorant into the Developer bottle. 

Step 3 : Replace applicator cap and shake vigorously.

Step 4 : Place the comb applicator to easily glide through hair and to ensure equally distribution of colorant on the hair.

*Be sure to wear your Colorist Gloves!

Step 5 : Apply color mixture first to the roots and/or grey area. Then, part your hair into small, even sections using the applicator comb. Lastly, spread it all through the hair.

LET IT DEVELOP FOR 30 MINUTES.

Step 6 : Rinse hair then apply generous amount of the Protective Conditioner. Rinse thoroughly. 

Annnnnd, this is how my hair looks after coloring! I have been wanting to try "Ash" shade of hair color. This one is perfect because it's not too Ash-y and not to bright!

LIKES :

• No stingy smell
• Doesn't burn the skin or scalp
• Doesn't leave color stain on skin
• Color doesn't drip
• Easy application, thanks to comb applicator
• Didn't dry my hair after application
• Color was vibrant
• My hair was soft and shiny, even after coloring!

DISLIKES :

• Not enough product in the pack to color long hair

What I liked the most is that my hair did not get dry or felt damaged at all. In fact, it was smoother and silkier after using this hair colorant! It could be because of the Protective Conditioner which was so, so good! I was able to use the product in the bottle for 3 times. So, the conditioner was probably one of the reasons why the colorant didn't damage my hair. Nonetheless, it is a good product from L'oreal! Go ahead and try it, too!

How To Deal With Menstrual Cramps

Now that I am an adult, one of the things that I have come to learn is that there is a remedy to anything and everything and that not all pain and sickness should be remedied by immediately taking medicine. Let's take Menstrual Cramps or Dysmenorrhea as an example. Not every woman experiences this every month. I am one of the unlucky people that get this every month. Consistent. No if's nor but's. 

Today, I'll share with you some remedies I do when I get menstrual cramps on my red days.

One of the most effective way to relax the muscle and to ease the pain is by taking warm and fragrant tea. Warm drink relaxes contracting muscles in your abdomen area that causes the pain. While the fragrance and contents of the tea eases out the pain and stimulates the brain that gives your body the signal to feel pain.

Another great advice is to use the right pad. Using bulky and less absorbent pad will make you feel stuffy, uncomfortable and unrelaxed. The last thing you would want when you're on your period is to feel uncomfortable. Having your period already is uncomfortable. So, why make yourself suffer even more by using the wrong pad?

What are the characteristics of a right pad?

• No stuffy feeling
• Super absorbent
• Thin / should not be bulky
• Should not leak nor give you red stain
• Should smell nice
• Long enough to protect until the back area
