BDJ and Loreal Beauty Soiree : KickStart Your New Look for 2016

Since I was always in Tarlac last year, 2015, I didn't get to attend a lot of events. But now that I am back in Manila (for good), I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing a lot of posts about events now! Aren't you guys excited?

My first event for 2016 was BDJ Box and L'oreal Philippines Beauty Soiree. It was an event to inspire women (BDJ Bellas) to kickstart their new look and reveal a new self this 2016 through the help of hairstyling and makeup!

The event was held at the The Blackboard restaurant in Podium.

I was there along with 2 other BDJ Beauty Ministries : Valetie Tan and Kate Alvarez.

I remember meeting Valerie a few years ago when she invited me to visit her Glambox Beauty Shop. Valerie has always been nice, friendly and pleasant. We also talked and she mentioned how it feels amazing for someone to be working with people that one just used to look up to or idolized when one was just starting. She mentioned that because we talked about the popular YouTubers here in the Philippines then and now.

It's true, in my case. Because I have worked with Ana Victorino and Camille Co already. Been on the same stage as Bethany Mota. People that were already known names when I was just starting. I have also worked with Valerie already! I used to just watch her on T.V. and now, we attend events and do projects together! It feels surreal when I look back how small I was then and how I didn't think I'd do projects that I'm doing now.

Aaaaanyway, back to the event! Hehe

What do you guys do when you see a mirror in front of you? My first action is to always take a mirror selfie! Hehe

First part of the event was Hair Color 101. It was conducted by Ms. Wee Manansala of L'oreal Philippines.

I learned a lot of things! I always learn so much about hair whenever I attend L'oreal events. Do you guys remember the trivia I shared to you when I had my L'oreal V Look Cut? I learned so much from that and now, I learned more about hair! No doubt, L'oreal really is an expert when it comes to hair science!

I need to color my roots soon! I will use this new L'oreal Exellence Fashion hair color. Will do a review on it so be sure you come back here on the blog for it.

My beautiful seatmates, Valerie and Kate!

Next part of the soiree was Mr. Aiky Nar's makeup workshop!

He demonstrated 5 different looks to the Bella's that they could try on themselves later.

I actually have the guts to be a model now?!! Hehe It's amazing how blogging and being on YouTube have made me more confident! Before this whole internet thing, I don't think I'd be able to confidently sit there in front of many beautiful girls!

After the makeup and hairstyle demonstration, it was time for the Bella's to try 1 look! L'oreal provided makeup samples that the girls could use to achieve their New Look for 2016.

Selfie with the busy girls! hehe
Aiky did the "Working Girl" look on me. Prior to the demonstration, I had pink lips. I don't think red lips match my floral outfit. You guys think so? BTW, I'm using the L'oreal Pure Rouge Lipstick.

I LOVE lip products! Here are some of the L'oreal lip products that the girls got to use. This was only 1 train case. There were 5 makeup train cases that day.

Oh, are you a fan of AlDub? Haha. I used to be... Anyway, this is the infamous L'oreal Pure Rouge Lipstick that is now SOLD OUT after Maine Mendoza posted it on her Instagram!! It only costs Php 400 but try as you may, it is sold out everywhere. But L'oreal said that they are already replenishing!

The girls had a challenge. After doing their makeup, they had to post a selfie on their Instagram. After posting their photos, Aiky finally chose the winner. She will take home this exclusive L'oreal Makeup Bag with, of course, L'oreal Goodies inside!

Yay! Congratulations to the winner! (What's inside the bag, girl? I didn't see what was inside it so now I'm curious. Hehe)

BDJ has always been generous to their Bellas. They prepared loot bags for the attendees of the Soiree! Yay! Thanks to L'oreal for the products!

When I got home, I opened the bag and took a photo of what's inside. I know you guys are curious cats!

Some of my followers were also present at the event. Here's Karah, one of the most active followers I have on Instagram. She always likes my photos! Hehe Thanks, girl! :)

I forgot the name of your friend!! Hehe (Kindly tell me her name in the comment section below so I could edit this post.) But we were wearing similar outfit. Only, mine has clear flowers while hers look like they smudged. :)

Here's all the Bellas and the staff of BDJ and L'oreal present at the event. BDJ is really a community that not only focuses on beauty products but also aims to empower women!

It was a super fun event. I'm glad my first ever event for 2016 was with BDJ and L'oreal! More successful events to come, BDJ!

After the event, I met with MC. She is the winner of our Malissa Kiss products giveaway.

MC is also one of the most loyal followers I have on Instagram. I always see her like my photos. Even if you guys think I don't notice, I do notice people that always like and always comment on my pictures! So, thank you so much! A simple double-tap means a lot to me. (Follow @RealAsianBeauty on Instagram!) :)

She also gave me a gift and a letter! Aww, how sweet?! I really appreciate gifts and even more appreciate letters! I keep them in a cute box! Hehe Thank you for this, MC! I hope you enjoyed our kwentuhan!

So, that's what I did yesterday. I hope you enjoyed reading this. It's already past 2 in the afternoon and today is a Sunday so I need to get ready for church. I recently went back to church and it just feels good to surrender all my thoughts, feelings and problems to God. Would you guys want a blog post about that? Just let me know in the comments section below!

Whisper Skin Love Pampering Event

I was so pre-occupied last month because I told you guys my sister came here to the Philippines to visit me and bond with me. We did a lot of things together and I posted that HERE

Anyway, because of that, I missed a lot of events and was not able to work for weeks. One of the events was the Whisper Skin Love Pampering Session. I was so excited to attend this event because Whisper is a brand that I love when it comes to sanitary pads and because it was going to be held at The Chi Spa! I used to work around Ortigas and used to pass by that place for 5 years! I have been so curious and been wanting to go inside, but sadly I couldn't! When I got the invite to the event, I got excited... But my sister was here and I had to look after her so I wasn't able to make it to the event.

Because I did not want to miss the fun, I sent someone to go to the event for me. Hehe

Here's what happened at the event!

TheWhisper Skin Love pampering day was graced with the beauty of Isabelle Daza. She is the face of Whisper's newest line of sanitary pads.

Even though I was not physically there at the event, I know for sure that the girls had a relaxing experience. Have I told you that I have tried these pads and they are super great! I love how they are thin yet super absorbent! Before, long pads were only available for "night pads" but Whisper's newest Skin Love pad is long! Even the "day pad" is long to give maximum protection.

The even was held at Chi Spa in Ortigas. Sigh, I really wish I was there. I've been wanting to trying this Spa. :(

There were some fun activities that the media personalities and bloggers enjoyed.

This was also the day Isabelle Daza was officially launched as the newest ambassador of Whisper Skin Love.

So, that's what happened at the Whisper Skin Love pampering day. Glad that I could still blog about this even though I was not there. Hehe

Next time, though, I will make sure to attend their event! It surely seemed fun!
Thanks for reading today! Happy Sunday, everyone! Take care doing the grocery and last-minute Christmas shopping. Leave 3 hours early if you need to go somewhere, the roads are super crazy these days!

YouTube and StyleHaul Year-End (Thanksgiving) Dinner

One of the perks of working at home is getting to do what I want when I want it. One of the downsides, however, is not having any company Christmas parties to attend! This is my second Christmas as a full-time blogger, also my second Christmas without Kris Kringle, Php 300 Exchange gift and Company Christmas party! How sad, right?!

Good thing Youtube and Stylehaul invited me to their year-end thanksgiving dinner for all their artists. The 2 dinners were separate, though. I just decided to put them in 1 blog post. :)

First, let's talk about what happened at the YouTube dinner

I was most excited about this dinner because I consider YouTube as my boss. I consider it my main branch if I were a mall or food chain. (Hehe)

The Youtube dinner was held at Your Local restaurant in Makati last December 11, 2014.

Still fresh from the bus robbery I experienced last December 8, I was scared to go to Makati again. I did not want to be alone so I was glad Andy from Shimmerjjang.com went with me to the dinner.

The food at Your Local was... okay. But it was not great. Some guests liked the food, but I did not. I guess my taste on food is pretty basic because I like conventional tastes. I am not really a fan of fusion food and tastes I haven't had before. I hope you get what I mean.

Anyway, there weren't many guests at the dinner. Famous ones like Alodia Gosiengfiao, Erwan Heussaff, Chicser and the others were supposed to be there but couldn't because they had other appointments.

But it was fun to meet some people I haven't met before. To be honest, I am not the type of person to brag about my YouTube channel or achievements. If you have met me before, you know that I am quiet when at events and don't talk often. I'm not snob but I guess I like listening and observing more than being the noisy one. Hehe I am okay even when some people don't know me or don't recognize who I am. But I always like it when I give people my YouTube channel and they later find out about it and get pretty impressed. It's like they didn't expect a petite girl like me to be someone like that on YouTube. And I like it! Hehe Big things come from small boxes.

Cheers for everything that happened on YouTube this 2015! And cheers for another YouTube Fanfest in 2016!! (Ryan Higa, please!!!!!)

One of my favorite parts of eating out is the dessert! What you gonna do with that dessert?! Hehe Vanilla Ice Cream with Green Tea Powder and some nuts!

Here's everyone present at the event! We got another YouTube T-shirt! Another addition to my YouTube collection!

Here's what I wore that night. I haven't done any OOTD posts for a long time and I really, really miss it! Sigh, I wish there was someone to take my photos. It's so hard to do it by myself using just a tripod and remote. :(

Going home was so difficult, though. Ordinary cabs choose passengers so if you live far, they are probably going to decline and leave you in the middle of the street. Uber and Grab cars are safe and would take you anywhere, but I can't get over how expensive they are! 3x more than regular taxi fare! I am not the type of person to spend my money on that when I can get 1/3 the price on regular taxi. Not all taxis are dangerous. I always look at the taxi driver's face and the plate number and text it to a friend. I am also always cautious and never sleep in the taxi and always let the driver know that I know my way so he can't fool me. Hehe Like I said in the Duterte video, it's okay to be paranoid especially if you are in the Philippines!

Next, the Stylehaul dinner!

Stylehaul is a fashion network on YouTube. It is a community for YouTube creators and other beauty bloggers. It hasn't been long since I joined Stylehaul. In fact, they have been trying to get me on board since 2013 but I only decided to join after the YouTube Fanfest here in Manila! hehe

Anyway, the dinner was held at Todd English Food Hall in SM Aura last December 14, 2015.

I was so excited for this dinner when I saw my e-mail confirmation and it had the names of Camille Co, Laureen Uy and other famous fashion bloggers. I have met Camille before at the YouTube Fanfest rehearsals and she was so nice! She IS nice in person!
A photo posted by Kristine Roces (@realasianbeauty) on

The food at Tood English was so good! This is the kind of food that I like! I ate a lot! I think I went back to the buffet table 3 times and I'm not even ashamed! hehe

The highlight, of course, would be the dessert! I tried their The Bomb dessert and it was the bomb! I'm guessing it would be expensive but at least try it when you get the chance! It's like those videos you see where the food moves or changes it's form when poured with hot chocolate! It was so good! (I'll edit this post soon with a video of the dessert.)

My table mates that night were Genzel, Daisy, Angel and Kris. Genzel and Kris are fellow YouTubers while Daisy and Angel are some of the winners for the meet-and-greet.

Oh, guys! Please meet my new blogger besties : Lissa, Camille and Nicole. Too bad Laureen didn't make it that night. (Hehe) Just kidding! Camille was nice, as always. I asked them if I could take a photo with them 3 just so I could pretend I am part of their "blogger besties" barkada. hehe

Here are some of the beautiful YouTubers that are with Stylehaul that were present that night. Spot any familiar faces or ones that you are subscribed to?

My date that night was Angel! She joined the Instagram contest so I picked her to join me that night. Thanks for being there, Angel, and for the necklace gift! :) Oh, can you guys guess how old she is? I couldn't believe when she told me her age!

My "feeling teen" barkada! Hehe Some of them were girls I met at the YouTube Fanfest last June. And OMG, they are so young and fresh! Girls, please enjoy your life as it is now! Please don't hurry to get older. I envy you for being so young. You could still achieve and go places at that age! Take your time in life! <3 comment-3--="" nbsp="">

Our extreme high-angle shot! Hehehe

My tablemates with Yan, Regional Manager from Stylehaul.

And the whole gang! Everyone that's present at the StyleHaul dinner! Can you make a head count and let me know how many of us (or them, if you don't know me. But wait, you are on my blog...) do you actually watch on YouTube or know? I'm curious!

To end this blog post, let me show you my simple Outfit Of The Day. Anyone willing to be my photographer? I miss doing OOTD posts, really! Oh, willing photographer must be good at taking low angle shots! Hehe

Fun nights! Thanks to YouTube and to StyleHaul for setting up a dinner for us! Now, I won't feel left out even if I see my friends upload photos of their company's Christmas party on Facebook! Going to these dinners made me feel as if I already attended a Christmas Party! Yay!

Advance Merry Christmas, everyone! I promise to update this blog often so please check back every other day. Mwah!
